warren dunes

candie & brian had a great idea to go up to michigan and spend a relaxing day on the beach. besides traffic being terrible coming around the lake in indiana, we managed to make it there at a reasonable hour. candie, brian & kevin were already there soaking up the sun.

warren dunes is a beautiful place with lots and lots of sand underneath blue skies. there is even a secret clay pit where you can take a spa mud bath.

there is a lookout point, which offers gorgeous views from above the treetops. at first look, the hill, that rises 240 feet above the lake, seems like an easy one to climb... but after a few steps you begin to realize that it is quite a workout. with every step upwards, you slide back into the sand. but it is worth it and i'd do it again and again! if hang-gliding is your thing, it is permited here.

on the way home we got lost in the ghetto in indiana, but managed to find refuge at a nice restaurant for dinner.
